Rent movies now on YouTube

The film industry is boiling, after the integration of a video rental portal on Facebook by Warner Bros (see the article of Danielle), it’s now the turn of Google and Youtube to bring newness to the sector.

YouTube announced yesterday that more than 3.000 movies will be available online for rent. This announcement will seriously compete with the new Amazon’s instant video service. Moreover, Google just confirmed a partnership with Sony Pictures, Universal and Worner Brothers. For now, YouTube only speaks about rental in U.S. and is available on Youtube.com/movies.

Users will be able to rent a $3 movie for 24hours to watch within 30 days.
An initiative totally compatible with the Google TV that proves once again the future of the television is on the Internet.
