Happy easter! Eggs design for a good cause
Easter was originally a celebration of the day when Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. Nowadays, it has become the day kids are looking for chocolate eggs in the garden or painting decorative motives on real ones. The egg represents the budding happening at the beginning of spring, symbol of rebirth.
While the whole world is getting prepared for this event, Japan is still trying to recover from the tragedy. Since the disaster, a lot of efforts have been done to rebuild the country. Projects from all countries have been set up to support the reconstruction. Easter-eggs.com decided to combine the Easter celebration with the Japanese cause. The concept is simple: design eggs to help Japan.
Why eggs? According to the website Easter eggs are a symbol of rebirth and the start of a new life. Over the coming months and years, Japan has to rebuild - Not just a country but homes, families and lives.
Concretely, Easter-eggs proposed to designers to decorate wooden eggs (6 cm high) that are now available online for sale. The particularity of this process is that eggs are engraved using the egg-bot, a little robot specially developed for this purpose. These eggs can be now bought online. The proceeds of the sales will go to the British redcross. A nice idea arriving at the right time. So do not hesitate to share or donate…and Happy Easter to everybody!
