Situationist: an app that can make your everyday life unpredictable
We’re not much going to introduce a new revolution on smartphone as an idea that could change our everyday life. Situationist aims to interact with people who cross our way everyday e.g in the subway, supermarket or the library. Who never wanted to communicate with a total stranger just because he/she sounded/looked/appeared interesting?
Situationist allows you concretely to connect you and your iphone to random strangers located in your area. Every Situationist app-user will be notified of others’ proximity and has the possibility to get them to interact in different ways. This is based on a friendly discussion, a debate, a call for action or simply a comment. Photo and text content can be uploaded and a list of situations is already available (such as “compliment on the haircut”).
Situationist has been developed by the two British artists of Benrik. Benrik is already known for the Love Book, a log for couples to improve relationship’s understanding. The two artists claim that the app is inspired by the Situationist International, a radical movement that sought to transform everyday life and the world through experimental forms of behaviours (for more info, see here.
